  • Two pre-cut absorbent wicks
  • One tympanostomy tube

In this procedure, which can be performed in the office, the physician places the wick through a special tympanic membrane vent tube and directs it to the round window membrane or orifice of the eustachian tube. The wick inserts easily before hydration and locks securely into place after hydration. With hydration, medication applied to the MicroWick™ is transported directly to the round window membrane and to the fluids of the inner ear or the orifice of the eustachian tube.
